Everyone is welcome. These ongoing classes develop an awareness of breath and heart focus, while flowing from one pose into another. The instructor will give variations of select poses to reflect the level of students in the class. Each class ends with guided relaxation.



Basic Nuts & Bolts Yoga (offered once a season)

4-week session - $60 total.  This class is designed to instruct novices (or practitioners who would like a refresher) in the fundamental, classic yoga postures and breathing techniques.  Each class ends with guided relaxation. Pre-registration recommended. To pre-register, mail us a check for $60 made out to "Whole Yoga School".   (Drop-ins are also welcome.)

Kids Yoga

Fun for children ages 5 and up. This class offers a first taste of yoga which helps children build self esteem, calm their emotions and move their bodies. Class ends with a relaxation time.



Meditation - Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30pm

Whether a seasoned meditator or beginner this on-going meditation class meets you where you are. During the first half hour, the instructor teaches various tools to help calm the mind and prepare for meditation including kirtan (chanting), pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra and other meditation tools. We sit in silent meditation for the second half hour. This is a $5 class but free if you attend the Tuesday 5:30pm yoga class. Drops in welcome.



LEVEL 1 MEDITATION TEACHER TRAINING

Summer 2011 session just ended. Stay tuned for next session. $400

This course is designed to prepare you to teach a beginning level meditation class. The prerequisites are that you have a regular meditation practice yourself and that you are interested in teaching the Shambhava School approach to meditation.

The training is designed to accomplish 3 goals:
1. Deepen each student’s experience of meditation as practiced in the Shambhava School of Yoga.
2. Provide a solid grounding in the philosophical foundations of meditation practiced in the Shambhava School.
3. Develop a toolbox of teaching skills that you can use to teach beginning meditation in a variety of settings.

This meditation teacher certification program
- counts as 30 hours towards your 500 hour Yoga Teacher Certification
- awards 30 continuing education credits for yoga teachers registered with Yoga Alliance.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical Therapy is now offered by Mike "Vajra" Kohm at Whole Yoga. Sessions are 45 minutes and new evaluations are 1 hour. Prenatal, Postpartum and Restorative Yoga

This class is an excellent way to begin a yoga practice and also a wonderful practice during pregnancy and after. You will connect to your baby, strengthen your legs and stretch your hips. Learn safe ways to soothe aches and pains related to pregnancy and receive support and comfort while finding a peace inside. Discover yoga techniques that are practical tools in labor and delivery. Come listen and be listened to along with other pregnant women.



Private Yoga Sessions

$60 for 75 minutes. A private yoga session is helpful for beginners to yoga who are not yet ready to jump into a yoga class, as well as for people with any type of physical pain. Yoga may help you recover from various types of injuries (with your doctor's permission). If you want to improve your overall health and sense of well being or learn to practice yoga for preventative health reasons, a private yoga session is a great way to start! Your private yoga session will be tailored to your specific needs. Your session may include any one or a combination of the following: P\Yoga Poses, Breathing Techniques, Meditation, Ayurvedic Consulting and more!

Restorative

After a series of gentle stretches, you will rest in savasana (lying down) pose as you are guided into deep states of relaxation through imagery and body awareness. This class allows you to let go of anxiety, stress and tension and move into your heart.



Yoga Basics

This class is designed for those just starting yoga or practioners looking to tune up their yoga practice. Besides classic yoga postures, the class includes breath work (pranayama) and meditation practices. Find yourself in a posture you never thought possible!



Yoga Flow

This class is invigorating and great for weight loss. It is for all levels and includes postures that strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles, thighs, buttocks and arms. The tempo of the class is upbeat to increase metabolism using breath and asana.
