Whole Yoga's certified yoga instructors are from diverse backgrounds of study, with a common goal to assist each student, regardless of age, skill or fitness level, unfold his or her own yoga practice.
Whole Yoga instructors are trained in Hatha yoga and Meditation. Many come from our own Shambhava Center, Whole Yoga. Satya Larrea, E-RYT-500, Director
Satya Larrea is the current owner of Whole Yoga, since 2004. She discovered Hatha Yoga and Meditation in Cave Creek, Arizona in 1993. She became certified to teach Hatha Yoga while participating in a work study program at Shoshoni Yoga Retreat, which began for her in 1997. In 2001, she moved to Eldorado Mt. Yoga Ashram, Eldorado Springs, CO, and led Yoga Teacher Trainings there with her husband, Mike Kohm, co-owner of Whole Yoga. Satya is a continuing student of yoga and meditation, a mother to a beautiful daughter and works daily, using her life for spiritual growth. She studies yoga mostly on her own mat and has a deep connection to the practice of Surya Namaskar. Her greatest influences and inspiration being her meditation teacher, His Holiness Rishi Maha Mandaleshwar Sri Shambhavananda. She is also eternally grateful for the guidance of her first Yoga Instructor, Sioux Jones of Camp Creek, AZ, who encouraged her to visit Shoshoni Yoga Retreat which was a life changing experience. |

Vajra (Mike) Kohm, PT, RYT, CPT
Mike has taken over 30 physical therapy courses in his career. He has 17 years of clinical physical therapy experience. He presently teaches for Kinetacore, one of the premier continuing education companies in the field of trigger point dry needling. Mike is also certified in functional movement screens (FMS) and has taken level 1 & 2 in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Mike obtained his yoga instructor certificate though Shambhava Yoga, Eldorado and is the lead instructor of Yoga for Healing, a continuing education course for Yoga Instructors. He has taught anatomy and meditation for many of the Shambhava Yoga Ashrams and center since 1996. Mike enjoys riding his cross bike, skate skiing, yoga, hiking with his dog Louie and sledding with his family, especially at Snow Mountain Ranch. |

Karyn Karlson, RYT
Karyn Karlson is the Founder and former owner of Whole Yoga. She has studied and practiced yoga for 22 years and became certified to teach in 1997 through Shambhava Yoga, Eldorado. She is a continuing student of yoga and meditation, working daily to advance and deepen her own practice. Karyn studies yoga with a variety of master instructors, with her greatest influences and inspiration being the work of Erich Schiffmann, Barbara Benagh, and the guidance of her meditation/life Teacher, His Holiness Rishi Maha Mandaleshwar Sri Shambhavananda. |

Naomi Reshotko, RYT
A serious student of modern dance throughout her youth and early adulthood, Naomi came to yoga in middle age to continue to enjoy moving her body even while dealing with chronic neck, shoulder and back pain. She quickly found that the value of a regular yoga practice went beyond pain relief to enhance her life in ways she hadn’t previously imagined. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to deepen her practice through a teacher training at Shambhava Yoga Center, Whole Yoga. A long time philosophy professor, Naomi loves to teach and, since she loves yoga, she is delighted to get to share her love of yoga with the Whole Yoga community. |

Kamala Viecelli, ERYT-500
Kamala Viecelli discovered yoga while attending massage school in 1997. She instantly felt a deep connection and love for the practice. Her desire to learn more about yoga led her to Shoshoni Yoga Retreat outside of Boulder, Colorado in the USA in 1999. She lived in this residential Ashram for 4 years, studying Shambhava Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, and practicing Seva (selfless service). Kamala’s further exploration of yoga has led her to study and practice with many well-known teachers throughout the world. Her experience of being a massage therapist for over 12 years, in addition to practicing and teaching yoga, has given her a wealth of knowledge in anatomy and biomechanics. She holds a 500 hour RYT certification from Shambhava Yoga. |

Sara Greenlee, RYT
Sara is a massage therapist. She started doing yoga because she found that it enabled her to remain flexible and strong for her work. She resonated with the breath work (Pranayama) and uses these techniques to quiet her mind and relieve anxiety. She became certified to teach Children's Yoga first and then hatha yoga through the Shambhava School of Yoga. In her 12 years as a human services professional, she's watched people search so hard to find happiness outside themselves. Through yoga she's learned that you only have to look inside to find happiness. |

Carol Sullivan, RYT
Carol studied at Shambhava Yoga, Eldorado and is in her twelfth year as a yoga practitioner. She holds a doctorate in literature and likes to search in yoga, writing, and literature for "the poise of the soul." She has a gift for communicating the intelligence and the beauty of yoga and meditation to her students. Carol has been a state legislator, college professor, high school teacher, journalist, and published author. One of her favorite quotes about yoga practice comes from Swami Shambhavanada, who states, "The breath comes in, you expand, and the energy soaks in." |

Andrea Silver, RYT
Andrea is passionate about teaching yoga to people who aren't pretzels. Her 25 years of Yoga and Meditation are the wellspring from which her joy, spirituality and playfulness flow. Andrea teaches yoga from the inside out. She views asana practice as a way to deepen connection with inner wisdom, as well as a vehicle for developing physical strength and flexibility. Andrea is also a counselor, mentor, and Laughter Yoga leader. |

Oscar deCardenas, CYT
Oscar was introduced to yoga in the late '90s but practiced only briefly before rediscovering yoga in 2008. Not having been athletic in his youth and always finding working out to be a chore, Oscar feels completely 'at home' with yoga. In addition to benefiting him physically, yoga has given him a greater sense of inner awareness and peace. He continues to deepen his practice and has a 500-hour advanced certification from Shambhava Yoga. As a teacher, he hopes to foster a sense of self-discovery among his students. |

Alicia Moore, CYT
Alicia began practicing yoga 10 years ago to alleviate stress in her life. She she received a Shambhava Yoga certification in 2010, at Whole Yoga. She teaches several Chair Yoga classes around the metro area for the elderly. Alicia is also studying to become a massage therapist, specializing in Thai Yoga Massage. Her passion in life is helping others, whether it is to relax, heal from a stroke or simply learn to breathe and stretch. |

Susan Bhat, CYT
Susan believes that yoga is magic. In her first yoga class, she remembers that she hated lying in savasana, wondering what was the point of relaxing. Luckily she kept trying and started to practice yoga regularly in 2009. After many years of depression and back pain, yoga helped heal her life and her body. Susan is a recent graduate of the Whole Yoga 200 hour yoga teacher training program. She looks forward to learning from her students how best to guide them through their practice. "I love the Shambava School for its gentle, middle-path philosophy, and I aspire to make that my own philosophy for teaching and for life. |

Lauren Tartarsky, CYT
Lauren discovered the beauty of yoga a few years ago after incurring injuries in a car accident. Since then, she has turned to yoga for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing; a journey for which she is eternally grateful. While living and working at the Shoshoni Yoga Ashram, she completed her Level 1, Level 2, and Yoga for Healing trainings. In her classes, Lauren creates a light-hearted, welcoming environment, allowing each student to work with his or her own strengths and limitations with an open heart In addition to her love of yoga, she is a food activist committed to improving access to healthy food for low-income communities. She recently worked on an organic vegetable farm and has also held positions in the world of food policy, school food, and community gardening. |

Shannon Boarman, RYT
Shannon began practicing Hatha Yoga in 2007. She was a Ballerina for 15 years and fractured a vertebra while dancing. After a long healing process, yoga offered a strengthening alternative to ballet. As she continued her practice she discovered peace through yoga and meditation. She has followed a path leading to Whole Yoga and hopes to continue teaching while studying to become an Acupuncturist. She also enjoys outdoor activities, singing, reading and volunteering amongst her community. She believes in teaching “Yoga from the heart”, and strives to offer a supportive environment in her class. |

Sarah (Kira) Parkovich, RYT
Kira has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching since 2008. She received a Shambhava Yoga certification, at Whole Yoga. Kira teaches and practices from the heart. On her journey, yoga has helped her to heal, grow, create, and find her way home. She is joyful to share this practice with her students and for the sweet community that develops from practicing together. |

Amber Abbott, RYT
Amber is a student of life! She is always looking for ways to dig deeper and grow as a person. She has been studying yoga for over seven years and uses her practice to gain strength and overcome obstacles. After facing many challenging circumstances she has found that yoga is a great way to manage both physical and emotional pain. Her goal as a teacher is to help her students strengthen their practice so they can get more out of life both on and off the mat. |

Carly Firme, RYT
Carly first tried yoga during college as a form of exercise. She was hooked from the first class and knew it was something she would continue for years. Carly credits yoga with keeping her injury-free while playing volleyball and other strenuous sports. She gradually began to explore the spiritual side of yoga and found Whole Yoga to be a wonderful community and place to help her grow. She completed her Level I teach training at Whole Yoga and she aims to make her classes accessible for all levels. |

Erin Giacomelli , RYT
Erin started yoga in 2005 and quickly fell in love with the restorative qualities of the practice. She became certified as a yoga instructor in the summer of 2008 with Shambhava School of Yoga in Fort Collins, Colorado. She has been teaching yoga ever since. Erin deeply values healthy alignment in yoga postures as well as a meditative mindset in each asana. She encourages her students to embark on the exciting journey of connecting with their inner light. |
